Welcome to the DeWitt Middle School athletic page for Wrestling
All students, 6-8 grade, are eligible to participate on the school wrestling team. On Wednesday, December 4, 2019, there will be a short preseason meeting for interested students from 7:45-8:00am (during seminar time) and the first day of official practice will be held after the holiday recess on January 7, 2020. All practices take place at the high school wrestling room. To participate, students must have a current physical card on file in our main office. There is also a sports fee of $150 that must be paid prior to the first meet. Students that have previously played on a DeWitt Middle School sports team, this school year, have already met the requirement of a physical card and sports fee and do not have to submit anything else to be able to participate in wrestling. You can view the entire wrestling schedule below.
We appreciate your continued commitment to support our student athletes in maintaining strong academics and his or her growth as a leader, team player and athlete on the field. It is our intent to provide all of the information you need to navigate your families journey through our athletic, arts, and academic programs. Should you have a suggestion, please email DeWitt Middle School Athletic Director Eric Wieferich at firstname.lastname@example.org
The DeWitt Board of Education sets fees annually for student participation pricing. Sports participation fees (Pay to Play):

Junior High fee $150/Year ($300 Family Limit)

Students must have a valid, up to date physical on file at the junior high office before they can tryout, practice, or compete. These forms are available at the HS athletic office as well as the Junior High Office. All physicals must be dated April 15th or later.
Student eligibility requirements are set by the DeWitt Board of Education in consultation with the Michigan High School Athletic Association. At DeWitt Junior High the athletic director pulls eligibility reports by noon on Friday. Any student that is failing any class is deemed not eligible for the full following week. Student's eligibility will be redetermined the following Friday for the following weeks competition.
