Volleyball tryouts for the 2025-26 school year will begin on Tuesday, August 26 from 2:45-5:00. The 8th Grade Team will hold tryouts in the small gym while the 7th Grade Team will hold tryouts in the large gym. A current MHSAA physical card must be turned in prior to tryouts. You can find the complete practice and match schedule below.  Please know that practices and matches can change based on unforeseen reason.  Coaches will communicate any schedule changes as the season plays out.  Our coaches are listed above and you can email them with any question you may have about the program.  Physical forms can be downloaded from the DeWitt Middle School Athletics page.  

The DeWitt Board of Education sets fees annually for student participation pricing. Sports participation fees (Pay to Play):

High School fee $255/Year ($570 Family Limit)

Middle School fee $165/Year ($340 Family Limit)

The limit for families with both high school and middle school athletes is $570.

Fee are due before the first competition.  Sports Participation Fees will be waived for families that qualify for free/reduced lunch through Food Services. Please reach out to  Athletic Director @ dodsonr@dewittschools.net if you have qualified through Food Services.

Students must have a valid, up to date physical on file in the Middle school office before they can tryout, practice, or compete.   All physicals must be dated April 15th of the current year or later. A completed copy of the physical can be turned in at the middle school office or emailed as a pdf to the athletic director at dodsonr@dewittschools.net

Student eligibility requirements are set by the DeWitt Board of Education in consultation with the Michigan High School Athletic Association. At DeWitt Middle School the athletic director pulls weekly eligibility reports by noon on Friday. For weekly eligibility, a student must have 5 out of 6 passing grades. Any student that is failing more than 1 class is deemed not eligible for the full following week. Student's eligibility will be re-determined the next Friday for the following weeks competition.  For trimester eligibility, a student must have 5 out of 6 passing grades per trimester to be eligible for the next trimester.

The best place for our student athletes to start his or her season is with a strong understanding of the high expectations we have of them.
