Girls Basketball tryouts will begin on Monday, January 9, 2023. The complete schedules are posted on the calendars below. A current MHSAAA physical card must be on file in our main office for a student to be eligible for tryouts. If you're not sure if a physical card has been turned in for a particular student, please email dodsonr@dewittschools.net
We appreciate your continued commitment to support our student athletes in maintaining strong academics and his or her growth as a leader, team player and athlete on the field. It is our intent to provide all of the information you need to navigate your families journey through our athletic, arts, and academic programs. Fees
The DeWitt Board of Education sets fees annually for student participation pricing. Sports participation fees (Pay to Play):
High School fee $225/Year ($500 Family Limit)
Junior High fee $150/Year ($300 Family Limit)
The limit for families with both high school and junior high athletes is $500.
Sports Participation
Fees are due before the first scheduled contest. Sports Participation Fees will be waived for families that qualify for free/reduced lunch through Food Services.
Physical
Students must have a valid, up to date physical on file at the junior high office before they can tryout, practice, or compete. These forms are available at the HS athletic office as well as the Junior High Office, or you can simply download and print a forms listed on the main athletics page. All physicals must be dated April 15th or later.
Eligibility
Student eligibility requirements are set by the DeWitt Board of Education in consultation with the Michigan High School Athletic Association. At DeWitt Junior High the athletic director pulls eligibility reports by noon on Friday. Any student that is failing any class is deemed not eligible for the full following week. Student's eligibility will be redetermined the following Friday for the following weeks competition.

Please take time to read and understand our athletic code of conduct. This document covers the rules and expectations of our athletes on top of the student code of conduct. The best place for our student athletes to start his or her season is with a strong understanding of the high expectations we have of them.
